So, by now you know that I am relocating to Portland, Oregon come early May. In early March, Stacy and I took a road trip to Portland to scout out living arrangements and tap our connections for job possibilities. It was a great trip in many ways…some stories to come…and of course, I took my camera.
First night of the trip, we stopped to see my aunt Ginny and uncle Pete in Peculiar Missouri. We got up early to go for a walk and “help” feed the horses. I use the word “help” in the most loose interpretation possible. But, anyway, the moon was setting.

A couple of weekends ago, I had a really fun experience. Perhaps you can relate…you’re watching a movie, and enjoying it. You hear the soundtrack, and think to yourself, “why do I know this music?!” In my case, the movie was Little Miss Sunshine, and the soundtrack music was largely written by a band called DeVotchka (or their lead singer, Nick Urata). It was not all that long ago that I blogged about seeing an unusual act at Bonnaroo…

Not to be too terribly irreverent or anything, but they really do rule the household! (Oh, and only one of them is male!)
My family has a thing for big dogs. And, funny enough, this crew is actually smaller than some previous members of the West clan!
